H&M Nautical

I don't normally think of H&M as a preppy destination, but I stopped by on a whim on my lunch break, and I was thrilled to discover a few nautical gems:

Cropped crab sweater.  I never wear anything cropped, but I am tempted!!

Short sleeve crab shirt- also cropped.  I bought it ($17.95) and it fits, but it's cropped, so a tank or cami will go under it.  

Lightweight striped shirt.  Classic, and I like the little buttons on the left shoulder.

Cute anchor sweater- not cropped!

Vest with striped lining.  Maybe even monogram it?

Cute anchor short sleeve shirt- but the pocket locations don't work for me.

Cap sleeve super soft shirt.  I could live in this in warmer weather.

Cap sleeve anchor shirt.  The employees needed to get out the steamer on this one!

Cotton fisherman's sweater.  At $35, a great summer throw on and an alternative to my winter wool one.

Thick long sleeve shirts- great knock off of some much more expensive ones.

Talbots- classicly preppy

My mom likes Talbots and so do I- and I have for many years.

While some stuff is a little "old" for me and other young (or much younger) preps, they have some nautical/heart/generally preppy pieces that I will wear and have worn for years.
Plus, there's almost always a discount or promo, which is a bonus.

Breakwater Wash Boyfriend Jeans- always looking for the perfect pair

Waffle-Terry Cocoon Cardigan- this blue is so pretty for spring/summer

Roxy Pebbled Leather Scrunchy Ballet Flats- may need to replace my Tory ones and these are a lot more affordable.

Classic Rain Coat- with striped lining, including striped roll up sleeves and striped hood!
I am fortunate enough to live near Hingham, Talbots' HQ.  They have an outlet there, and it is not like the outlets in chains.  The discounts are insane, and if you are patient, you can get things from last season at amazing discounts. 

I stopped by and picked up a few things- at 40-75% off.

Belts -$2.99 each

Socks - $5.40

Shoes - $20

Shirt - $13.75- you can roll the sleeves up or leave them down.

Total = $48.12
