Nantucket 2015

It's September 16, 2015, 83 degrees in Boston, and I REFUSE to post about fall.  I have tons of posts waiting, but I won't write about my favorite coats or sweaters until I need to wear one.

So, here's a little recap of my annual trip to Nantucket with my girlfriends.  We have been incredibly blessed with amazing beach days, and I hope that we can continue our tradition (in addition to my hopes of buying a little Sconset cottage one day).

Pre-ferry tradition: lobster caesar at Spanky's.  And a little shopping at the huts.  Guess who bought a little wooden whale before even leaving Hyannis?

This sight.  Approaching Nantucket.  It NEVER gets old.  I DARE you not to smile.  Even in the rain!

Ready to break out the party snacks in our cute cottage: cheeses from France and Italy (moliterno with truffles), crackers (including gluten free) and fresh fruit.  Great group effort!  We followed up with a lobster dinner before heading out- also a tradition!

Mandatory night at the Chicken Box, made more pleasant due to the Joshua Tree playing all of our U2 favorites

I started my weekend off right with a delicious, albeit expensive smoothie from The Green.  This place was a go to my whole weekend, and one day, we all had smoothies!

Then I prepped for the beach.

First beach stop: Surfside! What's not to like?!

Post beach, I took walk into town to clear my head and to do some window shopping in advance of group shopping.

Pre-dinner drinks- can't remember what I was drinking, but it was a winner!

Then to a delicious meal at Lola 41.

We had to wait a while past our reservation, but ended up all smiles when gifted with a glass of prosecco for our patience.
Sunday Funday!

New to us: Ladies Beach.  Funny name, because not so much for the ladies- no facilities!

On to another tradition, CISCO!  Raw bar, grilled Mexican street corn and my new favorite drink- some delightful drink with KALE in it.

Sunday Funday continues with another tradition: watching the sunset at Madaket and a delicious meal at Millie's.

The final day: a walk into town, and breakfast at one of my favorites: The Fog Island Cafe

Then to some shopping!

On to my happy place for a quick centering before I left the island: Sconset!

 Always so sad to leave.

Until next time, my beloved Nantucket!
