Cape Refresh - Happy Place

We have had a little cottage on the Cape for about 23 years, and before we owned it, we rented it each summer for a week.  Everyone in our family has loads of happy memories, and a lot of our friends do as well!

We have a killer view, and are just two houses from the ocean.  It is rented in the summer season, but I can come and go for the most part outside of that.  It's great to visit in the off season (Wellfleet oysterfest, NYE), even when it's cold.  I always say that I will visit more, and I never do it enough, despite that it's less than an hour door to door.

Fortunately for me, I had to go down to do some measurements for my parents.  And I picked a great Sunday day!  It was in the low 50's and perfectly sunny.  I did not even need a coat, which was a lovely surprise!

I started off with a little stop in Osterville, just to see if anything was open.  And it was!
Gone Chocolate- a family favorite for years.
Coastal Style Cape Cod on Main Street.
I pretty much want everything in here.  This WHALE LAMP!!

Then, it was on to Hyannis to grab lunch and hit a few shops.  I was actually planning on grabbing a salad from Green Lotus, but they were closed on Sundays.  So I went for the big one- a lobster caesar from Spanky's.  Note: they definitely raised the price- it's almost $29.  But it makes two meals.
As you can see, this salad is HUGE!  It was so nice that I sat out on the deck for lunch.  There was no wind, which was lovely.
After lunch and doing my requested tasks at the house, I headed to the beach for a walk.  There was even a couple with beach chairs parked in the sand.
Kennedy compound in the background!  Sweater from Vineyard Vines outlet for $25 :)
I did not find any sea glass for my mom's collection, but I walked from end to end of our little beach and smelled the salt air.  It put me at peace and completely reset my mind.
My stumpy piggy toes in the sand.
Some bird got some delicious caviar!
Katie's must have just opened!  Cranberry sorbet with cranberry pieces- a little too sugary, but enjoyed a few bites.
Truth.

I feel so much better after having few hours to recharge in my happy place.
